Seven Blue Mile

Unit 31 Lot 29: TOT ID# 1595 Welcome to "Seven Blue Mile" house. It's seven miles from the house to the farthest visible sea-cliff on the horizon! The house sits high atop a hill above the Sea Ranch Lodge, and offers incredible views of the cliffs, bluffs, waves, and trees at the south end of The Sea Ranch, past Stewart's Point, and beyond.

The house has 3 stories, 3 bedrooms 3 baths and sleeps 6. The living room has a 52" flat screen HD TV mounted above a gas fireplace. The entertainment center has HD TV / DVD with built in surround sound. The hot tub is private and secluded but has gates that can be opened for an ocean view.

The living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and bath are on the ground floor or mid-level. The bath has a shower which is only steps away from the hot tub. The large open kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless-steel appliances; a French 3 door refrigerator with built-in cold-water dispenser, double wall convection ovens, dishwasher, microwave and 5 burner gas stove. There is a countertop TV to watch while you cook.

The private master suite with king size bed and master bath are located upstairs. It has a wall mounted LCD flat screen HDTV with DVD. The lower level has a guest room with queen bed, and kid's room with a twin over double bunk bed. Both rooms have their own flat screen LCD TVs with satellite. There is a shared full bath downstairs. All showers are of the walk in type, with no glass to wipe or clean.

Please note: there is no BBQ grill at this house.
Sheets and towels are not included with this rental.


SEA RANCH AND SONOMA COUNTY GUIDELINES
Drones are strictly prohibited in The Sea Ranch.
Quiet hours must be observed between 9pm and 7am every day.
No outdoor amplified sound is allowed at any time day or night.
Maximum number of vehicles at house shall be 3 (three), with a 2-car garage available. No RV's.
Maximum occupancy is 6 for this home.
Due to safety issues, owners suggest guests an age of 7 and above occupy this home rental.

  The location of the home, the ocean views from every room in the home, and the overall flow of the home from level to level and room to room is EXCELLENT.
  
  Here's what's not so excellent: (First) The Hot Tub is FILTHY and some of the Hot Tub Jets don't work(literally don't come ON) and some of the Hot Tub Jets are broken(literally broken pieces floating in the Hot Tub); (Second) There are only 2 deck chairs for a residence that houses 6 people; (Third) Insufficient salad plates (4 total) and insufficient cereal bowls (2 total); and (Fourth) NO Gas or Charcoal barbeque.
  
  You might say they're all minor concerns and you're right they are, but when you're staying there for 14 consecutive days, you begin to wonder "Why hasn't the owner taken care of all these things, they're so minor."

  This is a pleasant house with some views of the ocean. It is fairly comfortable, but the bunk beds did not serve our third adult well. We were a bit put off by a directive to empty all the trash cans (we paid a cleaning fee), and instructions to lower the blinds upon departing. The blinds were up when we entered, with instructions not to lower the ones in the downstairs bedrooms, a problem for the people trying to sleep in those rooms.

  We had an extremely comfortable and peaceful two weeks at Seven Blue Mile. The home is spacious, clean and beautifully maintained, with fantastic blue water view beyond the adjacent landscape and neighboring houses. Deer, rabbits, fox were some local wildlife that we routinely saw at close quarters. Great location a short drive (or walk) from the Sea Ranch Lodge, and the excellent Two Fish bakery at Stewart’s Point, and a great base from which to explore everything else that Sea Ranch has to offer. Well recommended!

  Great views and location, and the property managers were very nice and responsive.
  
  A few things to keep in mind:
  1) The house has stainless steel pans which can stick more if cooking eggs, etc so you may want to bring your own frying pan.
  2) Towels and bed linens are not included, but the property managers can include bed linens/towels if requested for an extra fee.
  3) Keys have to be picked up/dropped off in Gualala (~10-15 mins north) so make sure to budget time for that.

  We had 6 friends for a reunion in this lovely home. It served well except the kitchen is not well supplied for folks who really want to cook. If you come here to relax, hike and just snack - great! If you want to do some real cooking, you need to bring LOTS of things to help including: sharp knives, a large tea kettle, a large coffee maker, juicer, a decent cheese grater, coffee filters, food storage containers, a non-stick pan or cast iron, etc... Also, the beds in the "kids" room were pretty uncomfortable. Finally, there was no way for us to connect our computer to the large TV to watch movies.

  Our family recently enjoyed 10 days together in this lovely home. The beautiful view certainly made it extra special. The home is well maintained, and the few small issues that came up quickly handled. The floor plan, with the separate bedroom floors, is nicely laid out and provides excellent privacy, while the kitchen/dining area is perfect for family dinners and gathering. The living room forniture, however, is both uncomfortable and inadequate for more than 4 people, and we were five adults. Sitting on dining room chairs to watch TV is not a good substitute. New larger couches are definitely needed. In addition, the third bedroom bunk bed mattresses are very uncomfortable and inadequate for an adult to sleep on. So, minus these inconveniences, we enjoyed our family’s annual Sea Ranch vacation as always.

  I admit, we're former Sea Ranch residents, so impressing us isn't easy! Yet we love visiting the area as often as we can to enjoy the magic, and Seven Blue Mile does not disappoint. Gorgeous home, breathtaking views, well appointed and well maintained. We did bring our own pots and pans, and I was glad I did because those in the home are a bit shabby, as some other reviewers have shared here. If you are a passionate chef who really enjoys cooking (as I am), they just won't do. If you're simply about getting food on the table, they will meet that need just fine. Because we prepared for that possibility, we thoroughly enjoyed the home and we do plan to rent it again very soon.

  We've been staying at this house for nearly 5 years, we love the location, the view, and the layout, but it is in need of some updates. The couches could be more comfortable, the bed linens look like they're about 20 years old and not very clean, and for as beautiful as the kitchen is it really lacks amenities. No measuring cups, mixer is broken, pans are old and scraped up. The house could be really great if the owners gave it a little love.

The kitchen is beautiful and easy to work in which was appreciated, since we were there for a change of scenery during Covid. We were so pleased at how clean the home was when we arrived; it felt very safe at the time of Covid. The living room was an incredible spot to practice yoga which we did every morning looking out at the magnificent view over the Pacific. We were so glad we chose this house and Sea Ranch for our "change of scenery." The Sea Ranch Bluff Trail is wonderful.

  Beautiful home, very spacious and modern, great kitchen. Lovely views from the deck but minimal outdoor space. A long, hilly walk to/from the trails and beach. One suggestion for the owners - please consider replacing the pots and pans as they are very old, burnt, scraped, etc. The kitchen also needs more silverware (only a total of 7 forks) and some smaller bowls for cereal, ice cream, etc. instead of the big soup bowls. Overall nowhere near as well supplied a kitchen as we are used to and we tend to cook almost every meal in house. But the home is lovely and spacious and very comfortable, nice to have use of the garage.

  We stayed at 7 Blue Mile during the coronavirus outbreak, and while we were moving into our new house at The Sea Ranch. It was a wonderful, and much needed, respite during a very difficult time. The house was clean, decently appointed, with a fine (and restorative) view, and very private. It is large house, with good distance between the master BR and the lower (kids’) bedrooms. The kitchen is spacious and the dining table seats 8. Good wifi, with multiple TVs. We were grateful for the opportunity to stay there during the shelter-in place, and the staff at Beach Rental were very thoughtful during these special circumstances.

  We loved staying at the 7 Blue Mile. It was such a great house. It was very clean, and was laid out so nice. It was just my husband and I, so we didn't end up using any of the downstairs part of the house at all. But this house would be perfect for 3 couples, or 2 couples and with kids.
  The kitchen is nicely laid out, and has everything you need for cooking. The hot tub was great. I loved how it was very private. The house has excellent ocean views. We really enjoyed sitting outside on the chairs having a drink or coffee. The Rental company was great. The first night we had an issue with one of the fire alarms malfunctioning. They had someone out the next morning to replace it. Overall, it was a great house to stay in and we will definitely stay here again.

  My daughter and I have stayed at Seven Blue Mile several times and this time it was my husband and I who stayed. It was delightful to see his first impression - he was smiling broadly and taking pictures :) Seven Blue Mile is a lovely home and the aesthetics of the inside are magazine quality - lovely furnishings, huge kitchen etc. Then there is the magnificent view, a great deck for reading and a lovely hot tub with amazing views of the night sky. I will stay here again and again and again.

  My daughter and I have now stayed at 7 Blue Mile for three years in a row. We just love it. The house is amazing; the views are amazing; the quiet is amazing. It is our dream home away from home. We love everything about it: the decor is delightful; the kitchen looks like it came out of a magazine; the living room and fireplace are just right; all the major rooms overlook the ocean. And the hot tub under the stars at night can not be beat. We will be back again and again and again.

  Seven Blue Mile is very private. The layout is great - kids or friends can be downstairs and you can be upstairs in the master suite. We have been to Sea Ranch many times previously, but this was the first time we have stayed east of Hwy 1. I would be happy to stay here again.

  The house is beautiful and well stocked with kitchen essentials. The living room could benefit from a larger and more comfortable couch to enjoy the view and beautiful fireplace. And while the nice TV in the living room was appreciated, 5 TVs was overkill. Good thing we brought magazine and books, the house is completely devoid of books, magazines, or even playing cards, save for the token Sea Ranch coffee table book. The house is beautiful, modern, and a very nice place to stay, but sometimes part of the fun is exploring someone else's books, playing cards on a whim (even if you forgot to grab a deck!), and flipping through a magazine you wouldn't typically buy.

  We have been coming to Sea Ranch once or twice a year for about 15 years. This house was one of the best for a group. The view is incredible but the location is a ways from the bluff trails. We decided to drive and park to access the trails which turned out to work just perfectly. The kitchen and main living area are welcoming and clean. The dining table is large and great for having meals while we took in the view. All bathrooms had walk in showers and felt clean as well. I would stay here again for sure. Also appreciated the two car garage access.

This home is the nicest home we've ever stayed in and here's why: (1) Architectural placement of the home in the mountain side allows for a costal view on all three levels; (2) The home's floor plan creates privacy and full-bathroom access on all three levels;(3) High quality appliances and materials in kitchen: gas stove, dual ovens, large refrig.,granite counter tops;(4) High quality Anderson windows with pull down blinds;(5)Access to two car garage; (6) Beautiful wood floor on second level, high end carpet on 1st & 3rd level; (7) Comfortable patio furniture on deck; (8) Lighting, both inside and outside of the home articulate the home's special features; and (9) Great HOT tub with view of the ocean.   For the second year in a row, my daughter and I celebrated her birthday and Mother's Day at 7 Blue Mile. A deer was "waiting" for us in the yard. (Last year there was a pregnant doe in the yard in the morning and a mother and newly born fawn in the afternoon!). The house is like something out of a magazine - amazing views of the water from an interior which is aesthetically delightful and immaculate. I love every room - a living room with a very comfortable couch and chair and a fireplace. A dining room which seats 10. A window seat when one enters. And all of those rooms face the ocean. It has a wonderfully large and very functional kitchen which, because the rooms are open, also has a view of the ocean. Then there's the deck which is perfect for reading and taking in the view and the hot tub and its view of the ocean and of the stars. Plus three lovely bedrooms. Couldn't be a better place to stay! We sat on the deck and read, took walks, enjoyed the hot tub, danced and talked and talked and talked. We'll be back for a third visit in 2015!

  We had a wonderful stay at Seven Blue Mile. We knew that the house wasn't right on the beach but didn't realize it was on the east side of highway one. Still the views were amazing and the house was clean and nice. The kitchen is open to the dining room and living area and it was nice having the 3 levels with 3 bathrooms. If you are into cooking like we are I would recommend bringing additional pans (cast iron and stainless steel) but over all a fantastic stay and would keep coming back! Loved it!

  This home is a great place to spend your vacation. It is clean, modern, welcoming, and has nice furniture. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, though if you prefer your coffee french-pressed, be sure to bring your own. The only potential drawback is the lousy internet connection. When I spoke to the ISP, the technician said that the connection is so slow that it would be faster to send the data packets via US Mail! He didn't realize that his company even offered such a connection. My advice - just enjoy the place and the area and don't try to work!

  Seven Mile is a very pretty house. Gorgeous views. Reviewers for a few years in the log book, have made a number of good suggestions for making the house a little more comfortable, and the provisions of the kitchen a bit more user-friendly and functional (cereal bowls, tupperware, basic spices and cooking spray, etc). The hottub did not hold its temperature for us on our last 2 days, but it was not worth trying to call on a Sunday. Otherwise, we would definitely consider renting again.
  
  For $180 in housekeeping that renters pay... more attention to really having the place sparkle would be good. We had to clean out the junk trapped in the washing machine (wrappers, socks, paper clips), and the many cobwebs in the house were a mild annoyance.

I didn't quite realize how far set back from the ocean this would be -- you definitely have to drive down to get access to the paths along the bluffs by the ocean. And also, while the king bed was a lovely Tempur-Pedic mattress, the other three beds were very unforgiving and hard. My friends and I rotated nights in the bed, just to all have at least one good night's sleep.

Relaxing in the living room with a glass of wine and watching the sun set change the sea and hillsides into a myriad of color variations was a highlight. Our first morning, we saw a pair of foxes sneak through the front yard...what a treat! Hiking through Sea Ranch trails we saw many deer, wild turkeys, soaring hawks and buzzards, any many songbirds that were unfamiliar to us. Everything in the home was first rate and well-maintained. Every single room had an amazing view, especially the master bedroom. Personal touches left by the homeowners were nicely sparse and tastefully endearing. I would unconditionally recommend 7 Blue Mile!

  I recently stayed at Sea Ranch for two weeks, and the Seven Blue Mile and Monette homes were magnificent- each in totally different ways. I cant say the same for all the properties- some are dated or not so well appointed or maintained, but that is to be expected. They are individually owned homes, and such things are up to the owners tastes and budgets. But what made our stay so fantastic was the management company. They are honestly heads above the rest I've dealt with in major cities and small towns through CA, and across the country. They went well out their way to resolve and issues and make sure my stay was great. I would love to go back sooner- but it looks like both homes are booked up for months. I definitely won't hesitate to recommend Sea Ranch, or Beach Rentals. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in the area. Thank you, Patti and team!

  The house was fabulous though the washing machine was inoperable at the time. The view is phenomenal and the location easily accessible to the beach, Two Fish Bakery and the Sea Ranch lodge. We will definitely return to this house because after staying in Sea Ranch for the last 25 years, it was the best house in which we have ever stayed. Beach Rentals handled a couple of our "issues" in a fair and expedient manner as well. They were friendly and professional.
