Unit 5 Block 5 Lot 10; TOT ID# 1598. Welcome to Amar el Mar. This lovely home with a view set among towering redwoods is the perfect place to indulge your love of the sea. The sunny deck looking out to the Pacific Ocean is the ideal spot for enjoying tranquil breakfasts, magnificent sunsets and perhaps a bottle of wine.

Curl up to enjoy a fire indoors while watching your favorite shows on DirecTV Now, Netflix or a Blu-ray player, plus high-speed wireless internet. Stretch out on the large window seat and enjoy the ocean view or sit down and enjoy a great book. If you’re dining in, make yourself at home in the well-equipped kitchen or step outside onto the rear deck and fire up the gas or charcoal grill.

Children and dogs are welcome and there’s plenty of room to play on the decks and in the large yard. It's a short walk to the nearby hiking trail off Crow's Nest Drive. Beaches are on the west side of the Highway, a short drive down the hill.

When the day is done, rest up in one of the three cozy bedrooms, all with queen-size beds. From the lower bedroom it’s only a few steps to the hot tub right outside. The upstairs master bedroom is equipped with it’s own tv and private ocean view deck.

Bed linens and towels are not provided, bring your own or rent them from Beach Rentals.

SEA RANCH AND SONOMA COUNTY GUIDELINES
Drones are strictly prohibited in The Sea Ranch.
Quiet hours must be observed between 9pm and 7am every day.
No outdoor amplified sound is allowed at any time day or night.
Dogs must be leashed and cannot be left unattended.
Maximum number of vehicles shall be 3 (three), parked in driveway. No RV's.
Maximum occupancy is 6 for this home.

  I’ve stayed in several Sea Ranch houses over the years, and this was easily one of my favorites. The location feels so private and like you’re truly deep in the forest, surrounded by trees—while still being only a short drive from the beach and with a stunning ocean view. The house was super comfortable for six people (three couples)—each room felt private, with adequate bathroom space as well. The deck is huge and the hot tub worked perfectly. I think the highlight was the kitchen—it was unbelievably well equipped with every tool and small appliance you could want. We cooked every night and never ran into anything the kitchen didn’t have that we needed. There were also basic pantry and baking items (flour, sugar, olive oil, etc.) and some basic spices. Plenty of parking as well! Our favorite activities were visiting Annapolis Winery just up the hill, and spending time at Black Point Beach. The house is also super close to the lodge and access to the Sea Ranch trail system along the bluffs. All our communication with the rental company was great, and it was easy to pick up keys after hours. We paid for linen service and there were plenty of towels and extra blankets. I could not recommend this place more, especially for a family or small group!

  Overall, we had a great time, however there were a few minor issues. Almost immediately, our smaller dog found ways to escape the house. She found a hole in the screen door and a hole in the porch by the hot tub that she was able to jump down from. We also felt like there weren't many comfortable lounging areas to relax and watch a movie from. The window seat was the most comfortable spot, but too far from the TV. The couch was small and rough, and the chairs were all the sit-up type. Lastly, I think it should be mentioned in the advertising that this house would not be good for babies or people with mobility issues, as you must climb stairs to go into 2 of the 3 bedrooms, as well as the living room. We enjoyed the view and feeling of privacy. We also appreciated that this house was not as expensive as many of the other houses. However, I don't think we will be choosing this one again in the future.

  We truly enjoyed our stay at Amar El Mar and renting through Beach Rentals. The house was very well appointed and extremely comfortable and welcoming. The beds were comfortable, more on the firm side and the hot tub was a pleasure to use, especially after a long hike. The house is located up on the hillside and feels isolated and quiet, but you still get a lovely view of the ocean/sunsets. We had fun doing puzzles, taking walks, making fires and cooking in the very well appointed kitchen. We love the Sea Ranch and houses like this are great examples of why.

  We had some major construction going on at our home in Marin and decided that renting a house at Sea Ranch would be the least disruptive to us and our dogs. What a delight it was to be in this beautifully situated, very well equipped home out in nature. This is an older home with some wear and tear, but that was fine with us aside from the sliding glass door and screen which were very difficult to open / close. WE loved the view and the sense of privacy. The rental company was exceedingly friendly and helpful.

  This house was immaculate and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking supplies. The view from the deck and the hot tub was amazing. We love that it was dog friendly. Only two negative comments. The fireplace did not draw well so the house filled with smoke and we could not keep a fire going. Second, the hot tub would not keep a consistent temperature and the controls did not seem to work well. Neither of these things ruined our trip at all. We will definitely come back and stay again!

  I couldn’t wait to use the hot tub! It was great. I used it every night I was there. The house was nice. I was worried about the stairs but all is well. One bedroom is on the same level as you come in, master bedroom is upstairs and The other bedroom is downstairs, where you can walk out and use the hot tub. The view is gorgeous! There is a washer and dryer in there too. But with the washer and dryer there is an enough room to hang clothes. Other than that everything’s great! Enjoy your stay

The place is just as it appears in pictures, with an incredible ocean view from the living room and deck.   We enjoyed our stay immensely. The home was lovely and very clean. There are a lot of stairs, so it was a little difficult for my in laws. For that reason alone we will likely consider a different home for our next stay. But that aside, this is a great house. The kitchen is roomy and there is plenty of seating inside and out. The view is limited, but is exactly as shown on the website pictures. We have been coming to the Sea Ranch for years. This was our first stay on the hillside. It was quiet, felt much more private, and when the fog rolled in by the water we still had sunshine. The layout of the home makes the most of its space. There were six of us and we had plenty of room. The beaches were spectacular. Everyone we came across on the beaches and paths was friendly and welcoming. The Sea Ranch staff and rental staff were wonderful. We may not rent this particular home next time, due to the stairs, but we will definitely be using Sea Ranch Beach Rentals.

  First time we've rented on the forest side of Sea Ranch. Amar el Mar has a comfortable open layout conducive to spending quality family time together.
  View was xlnt with tree tops and the ocean. Loved being able to hear the waves crashing even from a distance. Appreciated Beach rentals handling a minor hot tub heating issue flawlessly. Only irritations were we had to bring our own towels or get charged, and had to pay for having sheets put on the beds. Both rather cheesy moves in my opinion.

  We enjoyed our stay immensely. There were a couple of minor issues that we experienced. One was ants. I do realize it is hard to control for these critters and we did make sure to keep the kitchen clean but they came none-the-less. Also the heater in the upstairs bathroom didn't seem to function. Also the heater in the dining/living room made clanking noises - so I don't know if there is a pending issue with it or not. It still functioned though.

    We ask our renters in our thank you note to let us know if there is anything they notice that would make their visits more enjoyable. So we are so glad you did! We were unaware of the master bathroom heater not functioning properly, so we are now getting it back to working condition. The type of heater in the dining/living room can take a moment or two to warm up and sometimes does make a clanging noise. In regard to the ants, we do spray for ants at least 4 times a year but unfortunately this rainy year has been ant season all over Sea Ranch.   This is a very comfortable home in a lovely setting. My family enjoyed it very much. I am not a sun worshipper, so I appreciated the forest-like landscape--but the views from two of the bedrooms and the living/dining room were spectacular--plenty of sea and sun there. The owners left a welcome for us in the shape of a bottle of wine (and a dog biscuit for our canine companion). I should add that the house had the best-equipped kitchen I have ever seen at Sea Ranch. I would certainly stay there again and will recommend this particular house to my friends.

  Amar el Mar is absolutely lovely! I stayed for 4 days with a couple gf's for my 40th. From the first night there I knew I would definitely be returning. It's at the end of a cul de sac so it's pretty private, the view of the ocean from the dining room, window seat and balcony is ridiculously beautiful! I slept in the master bedroom with the sliding door to the upstairs balcony open and woke to the sound of waves crashing in the distance. The kitchen is well equipped, we cooked all our meals there and ate very well! The nearby beaches are clean and quiet with perfect gentle surf.   What a fabulous home in the hills; the pictures do not do it justice! Wonderful white/blue water views from dining/living and two front bedrooms, surrounded by towering redwoods, sounds of booming surf in the distance. Incredible star watching from the hot tub at night, followed by a nice fire in the wood stove. Fabulous hiking trail accessible just below the deck (hard to find but worth the hunt). Only challenge was finding a comfortable place to "get prone" at night to watch (large flat screen) TV; window seat was a little far away, and love seat is rather uncomfortable. Love seat notwithstanding, we'll be back!!

  We loved Amar el Mar. The house sits up in the trees with an amaxing view of blue water with occasional white water sightings. The house is nice and comfortable, with a large deck and is dog friendly. The one criticism we have is that the deck is not enclosed so the dog has to be leashed at all times. Other than that, the hot tub is great for relaxing and looking out towards the ocean and the sunsets were beautiful. Quick drive down the hill to walks on the beach. Twofish bakery is just up the hill for morning coffee and croissant before you hike the bluffs, and a good sunny location for an afternoon beer. We recommend this house to all looking for peace and quiet, comfort, and location! We will return.

It's also close to a great hiking trail down to the beach, although the connecting path on the property could be improved. There were only two minor glitches: the DVD was not connected to the TV properly, although we were able to fix it, and the sink drained slowly, in need of attention which the management promised. Other than that a perfect spot for R&R.

We say a fox right outside the back door, deer and several hummingbirds. I wish the screen doors locked so we could have left the doors open more.   the fotos did not do it justice.the ocean view was fab.we would definately rent this house again.
