  The stay at Sea Watch was really wonderful. The photos of the house don’t do it justice. The house appears to be a late 90s vintage but it has been immaculately maintained. The quiet, the view from the large deck were so relaxing and peaceful. I would rate the house as 4 & 3/4 stars. The only ding on the house, in my opinion would be the seating options on the deck.

  We stayed at this lovely home for four days in April. This home is very comfortable and located in a tranquil setting in one of our favorite neighborhoods at the Ranch. The home is walkable to The Monarch Trail, One Eyed Jack's, Shell Beach, The Seal Rookery, Walk-on-Beach, and much more! The home was super clean and very well appointed. We enjoyed the hottub and sitting out on the expansive, sunny deck. Our furry baby loved this home, too, and we were so happy that the owners allow dogs! The enclosed grassy area is a great feature. Our only recommendation is to provide more comfortable deck chairs. We would love to stay here again sometime soon!

  My family of 4 spent a rainy xmas week in Sea Watch. Despite the weather, we had a swell time in the well stocked and comfortable house. Lots of views and light. The deck and hot tub were well situated. We even enjoyed the hot tub in the rain. It's an easy walk to the bluff trails and Shell Beach. Del Mar Pool was just a short drive away. It was a great place to ring in the new year.

  Pros: Really nice house that was well equipped. Coffee maker and coffee press. Blender. Electric skillet. Dog dishes. Spices. Nice large deck with hot-tub and ocean view. Love the sea air. Long walks on bluff trail. Short drive to end of Pipers reach, where you will find parking and easy access to bluff trail. Long walk to get to bluff trail without driving. Comfortable King bed. Great Wifi. Cons: Beware that you cannot open front door without the key, it automatically locks when closed, be sure to keep a key with you at ALL times otherwise you will be locked out. Fenced yard is extremely overgrown with 100s of sticker weeds over 2 feet tall engulfing the entire yard. Impossible for a dog or human to access. It would have been perfect to let the dog out first thing in the morning, if the yard was maintained. So, if you have a dog be prepared to get up early every morning get dressed and take your dog on a walk down the street. Only one good lounge chair on deck. Outside dining table and chair are rusty and rough really not usable plus tons of spiderwebs. Queen bed in second bedroom was very hard.

  Check-in and check-out were easy. The house wa reasonably private with foliage on three sides. There was not much of an ocean view as there are many houses between Sea Watch and the ocean. Wifi and DirectTV worked with no problems. Overall, we had a great stay.

  Sea Watch was almost a perfect property for our needs. A quick walk to the beach, nice amenities inside, wonderful hot tub and enclosed yard for the dog. Outdoor seating was a bit uncomfortable (hard metal seats at the outdoor table) and not many choice for other chairs. We would have enjoyed an umbrella and spent more time outside on the deck. A lovely view from the deck as well as the Mater Bedroom. Gate in the back yard wouldn’t stay closed so tied it shut to enclose the dog. Blinds on both sliding glass doors are stuck in the pulled up position. All that being said we certainly would return for a visit or recommend to others.

  Sea Watch is a wonderful Sea Ranch house. The yard backs up on the woods and while it is far back from the ocean, it has an ocean view and is very quiet, except for the sound of birds! The house is comfortable and decorated with a great casual style. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, spices, and dish ware. There is an enclosed yard for the dogs and a large deck with hot tub. The beaches and seal rookery are not too far. We would have liked a map of the Sea Ranch, but we did find one online. We would definitely stay here again.

  Overall, our stay at Sea Watch was awesome. The weather was beautiful ( a bit windy at times) but great. We have stayed at Sea Watch a few times now because we love the location, the house and yard for our dog. Location - so close to some of our favorite beaches - Shell, No-Name, and Walk-on. Super low tides in the afternoons when we were there, so it was fun to explore the tide pools. The house is very comfortable, with good amenities. The enclosed yard with "grass" space for the dog is wonderful. We also thoroughly enjoyed the spa.

  We have stayed at the Sea Watch house several times now. As I have mentioned in previous reviews, the photos do not do it justice. The location is excellent, with easy access to both Shell and Walk On beaches. The trail just outside the front (back) door takes you right onto the Leeward Trail (don't miss the Monarch Glen loop). The house is comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped, and the enclosed deck and dog yard make it very dog-friendly.
  Did I mention the views of the ocean and the forest? Just lovely.
  Beach Rentals is the best rental agency in Gualala for Sea Ranch rentals; we have been working with them for 30 years. The office staff is professional, responsive and personable, and the housekeeping staff is exceptional.

  I was very pleased with the Sea Watch house and would stay here again. The home is lovely, well taken care of and nice to relax in. It is in a location with easy access to the beaches as well as highway, walking distance around the corner to one Eyed Jack playground and not a far drive from the Del Mar pool. The kitchen was well supplied with all items I needed for much "from scratch" cooking and serving. The wifi worked great without any connectivity problems as did the satellite TV. Games and puzzles are available. The hot tub is facing the ocean and well kept. The dogs were safe within the fenced in area from predators, until I was no longer able to use it when I realized there were snakes in it. The down side to the timing of my visit was long mid calf grass in the yard and was graced with a two foot snake across the walkway to it after a rain. It was raining throughout the week and new in the season at a time that ALL grass is long in the state right now so it was not a matter of not being cared for it was just an appropriate seasonal issue. I do not do snakes! We enjoyed both DVD players in the living room and bedroom. The view was fantastic in all rooms and watched deer all around us every day. The BBQ was in good repair and cleanliness and easy to operate.
  
  The only downside issues were that there IS a loft but the access is closed off to it with instruction prohibiting it which is rather torturous to an 8 yr old as well as I would have enjoyed reading it in also. We have stayed in homes with a loft and it was great. The Jacuzzi bathtub in the main bath did not work (outdoor hot tub is great however) and the main feature of the master bedroom, the telescope, was missing the piece inside of it that enables viewing so we could not enjoy that. There is also not much in the way of outdoor comfortable seating so you may want to pack your own lounge chair. All of these were very minor and did not prevent the overall beauty of this home!

  We stay here every time we go to Sea Ranch because for the upgraded quality of the kitchen and master bed and bathroom I have yet to find a nicer place for the price point that also allows dogs. We love the location to the beach 5 mins, and so many hiking trails both at the coast and in the woods.

  Great rental experience. This house is perfect for a couple or two or small family. It is also perfect for our fur baby with a fenced backyard. The house is in a great location near Shell Beach and No Name Beach. The house is nicely appointed and clean. Beach Rentals is great to work with. While there we went on great hikes, enjoyed breakfast at Two Fish Bakery and also went to Mendocino for lunch and wine tasting at Pacific Star in Ft Bragg.   Along with quite elderly parents, we had a very good time at Sea Watch over Valentine's week. The very low steps as well as two walk-in showers were elder-appreciated. Exceptionally clean, the house is also very nicely appointed. We couldn't think of anything more the kitchen may have needed. As a nice touch, the dining room table featured images of carp cut into the glass. The lighting was especially attractive throughout. While the house is about a quarter mile up from the water, we could see enough of the ocean that we found ourselves staring out to sea often. After a comfortable walk down to the harbor seal rookery, we enjoyed watching the creatures watching back at us. The Milky Way was kind enough to dome the hot tub every night. If we'd have anything different, I think we would have better seating in the living room and the bedrooms. The comfortable beds sit high, and the master has one fairly high-set chair, while the second bedroom had no chair. (There's an idiosyncratically high-set Adirondack chair in the second bathroom.) Meanwhile the chairs in the living room could be more ergonomically friendly. Still, overall, a truly lovely time...

  I loved this home. It is clearly well kept and well loved. The deck is expansive and the hot tub is perfect for 2-3 people at a time. I had brought two chairs and I'm glad I did as there is really only one comfortable adirondack chair to sit on. The metal chairs around the table are sturdy but not cushioned. If there are other chairs or chaises available, that would have been nice as two others were shown in the photos, resting in the grassy area. The deck and grassy area are all fenced in, making it perfect for bringing a dog. The home is not huge but it is perfect for 2-4 people who really get along. The master bedroom is huge and the second bedroom is cozy and quite pretty. The galley kitchen is well appointed and the bathrooms are beautifully designed. A lovely home. Thank you so much for making it our home away from home!

  We just finished a relaxing weekend at Sea Watch. The big storm of the season arrived during our stay which kept us indoors the majority of the time. We did enjoy sitting in the hot tub as the rain came down. The kitchen amenities were new and good quality. The beds were comfortable. A few issue we did experienced were. The only heating element was the gas fireplace. There is no central heating, so the bedrooms and bathrooms got cold. I called the property management and the brought 2 portable space heaters and the problem was resolved. The other item that should be addressed is the sound system to the TV. Otherwise it was a great place to stay.

  Overall Sea Watch is a very nice home. A few minor things need to be attended to. The refrigerator is very noisy when the compressor is running and on the back deck there is only one chair. This really limited how much time a couple could spend together on the deck. We did have three raccoons come into the house by sliding screen doors and coming through window screens, which limited our ability to have the wonderful fresh sea air come in at night. One of the main attractions to us at Sea Ranch is the abundant and diverse wildlife but having them, literally, in our bed, is a problem that Sea Ranch needs to attend to. Beach Rentals was terrific in every way.

  If you haven't stayed in Sea Ranch, try it. We were at Sea Watch house this time, up to date, well located, nicely furnished. Three days of peace, quiet, and beauty. Beach Rentals, who set up the stay for us, were wonderfully efficient.

  The kitchen was so well stocked we didn't need anything we brought with us. The beds are very comfortable. Our two dachshunds enjoyed the deck & fenced yard and their welcome pack with pretty towels,sheet for couch, leash & treat were a Four Seasons type touch. The only thing missing was a flat surface in the bedrooms to toss stuff & a shelf in the small bathroom would be great or small tables. The grill was easy to use & we made use all 3 nites. The large bathroom had more space & storage than my first apartment, We loved our 3 nites in this beautiful home & look forward to returning in the spring. We are two friends celebrating a major birthday &' wanted quiet place.
