  Deerfield is a very cozy home with many areas to lounge, comfy furniture and throws. A small but efficient kitchen (although we could not figure out the microwave, perhaps a cheat sheet for this appliance?)
  Also the Primary bedroom is lofted with an open window so living room & kitchen noise can be heard up top. Despite these small concerns we would definitely stay in this house again. And Beach Rentals provided top-notch customer service.

  We've been coming to this house at least once a year for a very long time. This was our first time back since the pandemic. Our visit was as perfect as ever. The location, the view (sunsets into the ocean!), plus turkeys(!). The quality furnishings and art. The house is comfortable and welcoming. Our home away from home.

  The property was very nice, well kept and clean. It was not a good choice for me however, as I have some balance and mobility problems. There were too many stairs and the furniture was too low. I did not think a split level would be 3 stories, I thought main floor, few stairs up for one area, a few down for other area. It is ideal for two couples wanting their own space.

  We loved staying at this beautiful Sea Ranch home! I give it 5 stars because it was extremely clean, probably the cleanest rental property I’ve ever stayed at and also very comfortable. The owner was very thoughtful in having extra things we needed around the house. They had different teas and olive oil, salt pepper, etc. Everything was very thought out. Everything was perfect. My only two suggestions are to perhaps in the future try to get a bigger spa and if I brought children, I would be nervous of them on the white carpet. Other than that, it’s a beautiful updated house with that Sea Ranch feel. We loved staying here and would again in a heart beat. Thank you for everything!

  I credit Beach Rentals saving our trip by providing a great place to move to. Deerfield was clean and neat and had a fabulous view but the heater was out and it was extremely cold. They did have a fire place but I have health problems that smoke aggravates.

  Deerfield House is always a joy to stay in. The beautiful view and peaceful surroundings renew your soul. The house has great panoramic views. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need for cooking. It is a short drive to Shell Beach to watch the waves crash on the rocks. The turkeys always provide entertainment. The only suggestion we would offer is to update the sofa/chair in the living room and the sofa in the upper den. They look good, but are no longer comfortable. The house is always clean and well-kept. We love coming here!

  The materials provided by the agency offer no information at all about handicap access to the many beaches, nor is there any way to find out that certain beaches are temporarily closed. The map doesn't show many of the parking areas so it is impossible to understand how far one must walk to access the beach. No trail map is provided: I discovered by reading the fine print on day 3 that one needs to buy a trail map from the rental office. That should be provided with the keys along with everything else. The office staff was pleasant and helpful about answering my questions on the phone, but it shouldn't have been necessary for me to call to get this information. The inaccurate map is a real stumbling block. Sea Ranch should make a little more effort to welcome people with disabilities.

  My wife and I stayed at Deerfield for 9 nights to celebrate our 25 anniversary. This was our 21st stay at Sea Ranch, but our first on the hillside. We absolutely loved the house! Beautiful and comfortable furniture, great art, and incredibly well stocked kitchen. It was top of the line all the way. Great view of the ocean too. It was a nice added touch to use the garage for our car and bikes.
  
  Especially fun was watching the wild turkeys line up for take off into the trees at sundown. It was quite a show and we had front row seats from the house. We would definitely return to Deerfield and recommend to our friends.

  We were absolutely blown away by this house. When you enter and see all the forest around you and a beautiful sliver of the ocean, you feel that you staying in a gorgeous treehouse. The layout is brilliant, the decor warm and inviting yet sophisticated and the location is great. I love that the t.v. room is separate from the living space because my son for once wasn't reminded and compelled to turn on the t.v. but instead read his books while enjoying his surroundings. Really it's hard to leave the house, despite all the great nature outside. Still, the house is a 5 minute drive from town and a 10 minute stroll to the coastline. We initially were looking for a house on the coast, but after staying in this house we are not sure we can stay anywhere else in Sea Ranch. If you stay here, please take good care of it, because we hope to come back soon.

  This was my first visit to this beautiful place but I really hope not the last one! Tucked up between the redwoods and Pacific ocean it's both breathtaking and luxuriously comfortable. The house we stayed in located on the hillside and was designed to both fit the environment and to offer great views, gorgeously decorated rooms, and amenities, such as a living room fireplace and a hot spa on the outer deck. Everything - beddings, towels, kitchen utensils, and firewood was provided for us, including electrical blankets for cold nights.   Deerfield was intriguing to us. The home is very spacious, compact, well-appointed and comfortable. We always appreciate good lighting so we can read in any corner, space to do yoga without moving furniture, snuggly rooms and wonderful views. This home was ideal for us. The kitchen was well-equipped and stocked. We liked the rooms on various levels and all had lovely views. The turkeys were a nice touch roosting in the trees. The home has a huge garage and a covered carport ideal for bikes, due to rain we didn't bring ours this time and given the location would probably have to walk the bikes back up the hill. We walked to the coast since it was only one steep block on the return. We took a ridgeline redwood hike that is just up the road from Deerfield. We drove the 1/2 mile to the trailhead due to the increasing steepness of the road. The trail is through a redwood grove with trillium and rhododendron. We never saw another person. We'll be back.

  Our stay at Deerfield was really nice. Good location, and when the weather was clear we had a nice view of the ocean. Also, the hot tub was great. The very minor problems were that the furniture was a bit dated and not comfortable, especially dining room chairs. And even though I brought my computer and accessory cords, and my own Roku for the TV, the TV was set up not to allow use of an outside source for watching. On the other hand, Netflix and Prime Video were provided, but not always available when the owner was using those sources at the same time we tried. These were pretty minor problems. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will very likely rent it again.

  Deerfield is a lovely home high above the meadow with breathtaking views of the ocean! It's layout allows lovely views from every room either to the coast or of the surrounding redwoods. The way it is situated on the hill makes you feel you are up in the treetops! The interiors were very, clean, up-to-date and modern and the multi-levels are ideal for two families having dens with flatscreen TVs on each level. The outdoor decks were equipped with lounge chairs which were perfect for sunning and lounging with a book protected from the wind. The only pitfall we had was that we were not informed the stove/oven was not working upon arrival and we were somewhat lost just cooking with a microwave and convention toaster oven. There is a small weber gas grille as well. It's perfect if you don't mind eating out and just warming things up for a short stay. Inquire before renting if the stove/oven have been repaired. The staff at Beach Rentals were very kind to send out a handyman who could only confirm the unit was kaput! But in general, this is a lovely property only minutes from Shell Beach and it is definitely one of our favorites from over the 20 years we have been coming to Sea Ranch!

There are a lot of levels to the house so you could have privacy if you wanted. we enjoyed the beaches and light house and pool. The rental managers were friendly and helpful. It can be cool in the summer and windy. My husband loved the golf course. You are not right on the beach but it was not a problem to get there.

  I have been to Sea Ranch many times but wanted a friend from Hermosa Beach to have the experience. During the month of June we had afternoon sun. Had Breakfast and Dinners at the house. Cocktails at sunset, clean hot tub for nights and mornings. Golfed 27 holes at the Sea Ranch golf links. Hiked the ocean front trails, saw tide pools and harbor seals. Swam at the Del Mar recreation center lap pool. 2 flat screen televisions with satellite and private office work area, off the Master with fast wifi network.Has a large garage with washer and drier. Highly recommend for 2 couples or a family with 2 chilled.

  My husband and I had a wonderful time at Deerfield for our one year anniversary. We had always stayed at Sea Ranch Lodge and got married there but wanted to try out a house. We tend to enjoy nice hotels in general when we travel so I was a little worried at first since we hadn't seen the place before booking. When we arrived we were in love with the place! The home has a great view of the ocean from the hills. I loved how it was also surrounded by beautiful trees, as the homes right next to the ocean are not. This gave it a great feel of nature all around. We had plans to be out and about but wanted to stay inside to enjoy the beautiful home as well. We highly recommend this choice if you are looking for a great place to stay in sea ranch. The price was reasonable as well!

  We have stayed at Sea Ranch many times, but this was the first time up in the hills. It was a perfect choice. Great view, surrounded by trees, very private, quiet. Tastefully decorated. Everything you need in the kitchen. There were only 2 of us but it would be a great property for 2 couples. Totally relaxing...a walk along the bluffs, into the hot tub, then relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine, staring out to the ocean in the distance. We will be back.

  A beautiful home with lovely furnishings and amenities and the location very convenient to favorite beaches. The views were fabulous from nearly every part of the home - even the hot tub. The upstairs bedroom was more connected to the living space than expected which didn't work perfectly for our family and ages of our kids, but would absolutely considering staying again and would highly recommend.

  We stayed here for eight days in June and were blessed with excellent weather. What did we do? Basically..nothing! The house is wonderful and we were able to fully relax, which was very needed. Deerfield is outfitted very well and has everything you will ever need. We enjoyed watching the turkeys and the deer. We walked up and down the road enjoying the views. It is just a short distance to drive to any beach. The hot tub helps with relaxation. Beach Rentals responded very quickly when there was a problem with the Internet. What was my favorite part of our stay at the Deerfield house? It was wakimg up in the morning and looking out at the ocean in the distance while sipping coffee and reading. Definitely a wonderful property for relaxation, quiet, and great views.

  We love Deerfield and have stayed here three times coming back after renting an ocean front property that was more expensive and not nearly as nice or functional.
  All the furniture is high quality and there is beautiful art in each room, I especially like the sheep in the bedroom and would love to know who the artist is.
  The layout of the house is ideal. The office/ TV room is a great place to work or watch TV. The only downside is they have DirectTV which I find really hard to use and confusing.
  The hot tub is great too.
  I did feel on the last stay that the kitchen wasn't stocked as well as other stays.
  
  The views are great and Deerfield is very private.

  This home was just what we needed. It was well appointed, beautiful, clean and located just high enough on the hill that we had tremendous views. Sitting in the evenings reading with a wood-burning fire was extremely relaxing. Having wine and appetizers on the deck each afternoon was amazing. The turkeys even came to say hi. I would highly recommend this beautiful home and will be a return guest.

  AMAZING!!!!! Great location as it was close to everything (beach access is a short drive away!), yet it was still very secluded. The entire property was huge and it was clean, spacious, and beautiful. You can still see the ocean from the windows! The hot tub was a HUGE plus and definitely one of me and my significant other's favorite hangout spot. The bed was huge (we stayed in the room on the top floor), the kitchen was well equipped, the sofas were comfy, and there was even a spot to just lay down and star gaze! The list is endless and we almost didn't even want to leave the house at all during our entire stay! Definitely looking into this property again the next time we come here (and we WILL come back without a doubt) and maybe even bring friends or family along. Great place indeed!!! :)

I researched for a while until I found this location, which was private, well decorated, and had great views of the forest and ocean.   What a great place to stay for our 25th! Especially nice that our daughter and son-in-law could be with us to celebrate their 2nd, but the home provided privacy for each couple. We were all thrilled to walk in the first day and see that the images and descriptions were not only represented well, but exceeded out expectations. It was a place to truly relax and enjoy the quiet and slower pace. The common area of living room and kitchen was perfect with the fireplace and no TV to distract from time together.
  We have no complaints whatsoever, and only praise for the experience.
  Okay, one complaint. We had to leave. Wish we had booked it for a few more days - or years. :-)

  We have stayed in this home several times and really like it's location and the general ambience of the home. It feels like it is my home when I am there and the art and furniture are for my enjoyment! The one thing I noticed on this trip is that the kitchen cabinets inside and out need a good cleaning and the drawers and cabinets are not as nicely appointed and organized as in previous visits.
  The lovely carpet is showing stains. It would be nice to tile the master bath floor.
  Other than that this home is wonderful!

  Plain and simply, Deerfield is a clean, beautiful and tasteful home providing a wonderful, quiet retreat with a spectacular view of the ocean framed by majestic redwoods and pines. We spent a fantastic week, blessed with beautiful weather and the morning call of the wild turkeys who nest nearby ! Deerfield has every top flight amenity, from the best equipped kitchen you can imagine, to a flat-screen TV that acts as a private movie theater. At night, the fireplace provides a warm and cozy place for gathering, especially after a leisurely, invigorating soak in the hot tub. Two private suites are very separate and very comfortable. The only disappointment was the size and quality of the "gas grill" which is a table-top model, and had no propane. We bought our own, but ultimately, it's not a real "barbecue" appliance. An upgrade would be a welcome gift. Otherwise, this home is a winner !

  The Deerfield property was a truly magnificent find for us. We have been to The Sea Ranch many times with varying degrees of success in rental homes. Deerfield is truly a HOME. We appreciated the higher-end (though nothing was over the top) utensils, furnishings, and decor. But what truly makes this a great find is that the home and the owners respect the balance between a vacation rental and a home, and truly make you feel as though this property is your home while you are there. We will definitely be back!
