Just a 2-minute walk to the bluff trails and a few steps more to Walk-On beach. The sand and surf are never far from this comfy little beach house we call “Sandbox 3”.

The kitchen, dining room, living room and breakfast nook of Sandbox 3 are all open to each other to create one large living space. After sunset, relax on the sofa and watch the stars through the skylight or catch your favorite show via Amazon Fire TV, or Hulu Streaming (Samsung 42’ Smart TV with BluRay in living room, 50” Sharp tv in loft).

Amazing white-water views accompany you while you cook in the kitchen or dining room. Take advantage of the BBQ and enjoy sitting at outdoor table for 6 on the deck. After star gazing from the hot tub and it's time to head indoors you can find tranquility in front of the living room fireplace with a book or re-energize with family game time.

This 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home sleeps 6. The Queen primary bedroom has a fireplace and stunning white-water surf that can be seen while relaxing in bed or from the master bath. The second bedroom is a Queen suite with an added futon that has its own full bathroom with tub and shower. If sharing rooms isn’t to your liking, then guests (especially teenagers) will love the loft where there is a full-size pull-out sofa bed and 1 single bed disguised as an easy folding sofa.

After a long day at the beach, entertaining or simply relaxing on the sprawling deck is your dream. Pour yourself a glass of wine and settle into the comfortable deck chairs and enjoy beautiful white-water views and views of the adjacent meadow teaming with wildlife. If you’re quiet, you may be lucky enough to spot deer grazing very close by from the Adirondack chairs and large outdoor sofa.

Electrical outlets are accessible in the car port, so bring your portable electric car charger if you own an EV to top off the battery for your drive home. We also have a Tesla charger for guests who own a Tesla.

Bed linens and towels are included in this beach house rental.

Drones are strictly prohibited in The Sea Ranch.
Quiet hours must be observed between 9pm and 7am every day.
No outdoor amplified sound is allowed at any time day or night.

  The home was lovely to look at and was in a great location but that was entirely spoiled by the extreme sun/heat pouring into the living room and dining room in the afternoon. We were not able to use these rooms until after 5 PM. There were blinds available in the dining room that helped a tab but there was so much heat coming thru the big picture windows in the living room that those blinds didn't help a lot. Blinds, fans or A/C is desperately needed in the living room! We were unable to sit outside as there was no shade available there also.

  We loved the decor of the house, and the design of the rooms and furniture. We especially liked the master bedroom with the picture window toward the ocean.
  The kitchen was fully stocked with all the gadgets the appliances, and the dishes to cook anything.

  We (3 adults and 2 dogs) were here for a week over Christmas. This is a great location, close to the bluff trail with white water views and surf sounds. The rental people were very helpful and responsive to a maintenance request. There are a few issues with the house that prospective renters should be aware of, but they did not dampen the overall enjoyment of our stay. The water/ice dispenser in tghe refrigerator does did not work so we had to get ice. There is a lot of glass and no shades in the living room so if the sun is out it is almost impossible to stay in the room. Also, the seating arrangements in the room are not optimal, 2 couches but no easy chair for reading. Also, the light is not great for reading at night. There is a large TV in the loft, which is practically inaccessible, but the living room TV is rather small. Finally, there is no closet or drawer space in the Master Bedroom. But it is still a very nice house and we really enjoyed our stay.

  A delightful week of chilling out, swimming at the pool nearby, and enjoying the surroundings, especially the atmosphere the Sandbox 3 rental offers with their well appointed articles within the attractive home.The living room fireplace was well used, serving as a finishing touch to the days end. Good rental choice for 2 couple. If you have children make sure they can handle stepladder stairs accenting to their sleeping/playroom quarters in the loft. That was not an issue for us. Only two issues: Make sure to get the password location for the WiFi within the home from the rental agency when checking in (if possible), or ask by phone beforehand. It was NOT located in the information book at the home. Secondly, if you decide to launder clothes, bring your own detergent. Other than that, recommend the home/the location (nearby the grocery stores/restaurants in Gualala about 2 miles away), and the proximity to the Ocean edge.

  It’s a lovely home in a great location. The kitchen is well equipped for making meals, the rest of the house is tastefully furnished, and the views are great (while the bluff trail is just far enough away that people aren’t walking directly in front of your window). The only slightly odd things were no closet or dresser in the main bedroom and it can get warm in the living room on a sunny day. I would overlook both of those things though and would be happy to stay here again.

  Four wonderful nights to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. Perfect views of the ocean from our bedroom and living room windows. The hous was clean and well appointed. With just the two of us, we did not use the loft for sleeping, but a great location for a family with children. We may return someday with our children and grand children. There seems to be plenty of room for a family of 6-8, but confirm that with Beach rentals on permitted capacity. Location was just a short walk to the beach trail, visible from the house. We have stayed at various homes throughout the last 25 years and this one was one of our favorites.

  Our 5-night stay at Sandbox 3 was fantastic! The house was very well-stocked. We take many of our own kitchen supplies when we stay at vacation rentals, but didn't need most of them this time. Location is awesome with a gorgeous view and easy access to the bluff trail. As others mentioned, the living room can get very bright and hot during the day (even when it's only 50 degrees outside), but there are other spaces (and outdoors) to escape to. Plus, all the windows made for incredible stargazing from the comfort of the couch! Our dogs enjoyed Sandbox 3 also. We'd love to return someday!

  Beautiful location and home. The new updates to the majority of the house are awesome. Even the parts of the house that have not been updated are beautiful. The only downside if it is one, is that the house can get warm because of the windows and sky light. We were there in November, but the weather was close to 70 degrees. But open up all the windows/sliders and the cooler air comes in and is great.

  An absolutely beautiful property with great whitewater views across a peaceful meadow where deer often grazed. Decorated so nicely and was well appointed with everything one needs. A big downside though was no storage at all for clothing (closet or drawers) in the main bedroom. Second bedroom had some but very limited. So be prepared to live out of your suitcase. Otherwise thank you for renting your lovely home and especially allowing a dog. We enjoyed our stay very much.

  The only negative issue was the exterior tile front entry. Before entering house when we arrived there was a loose tile next to a broken tile. Loose tile popped out and we could not fix. Rental agency was notified. Otherwise house was perfect.

  Gorgeous home, wonderful location. Just some things to consider: 1) on sunny days, the living room is unusable due to no blinds and the greenhouse effect of warmth-would be an easy fix but we couldn't use it the entire stay due to sunny weather; 2) several lightbulbs on the high ceiling were out; 3) grill needs replacing as facilities person noted (plus it was dirty) and 4) plan on drive time back to Gualala to return house key to management office.
  
  The place was clean, modern and lovely. Fully stocked with kitchen supplies, towels, beds were comfy. Again a perfect home aside from sunny drenched living room.

  We truly enjoyed our Thanksgiving week in Sandbox 3. It was a perfect way to socially distance while achieving a change of scenery. The home is well-situated in the meadow with a great white water view but set far enough back from the bluff trail to afford sufficient privacy. We've rented a couple dozen different TSR homes over the years and this is one we would rent again. The only things I would recommend to the owner by way of improvements as a rental property: offer more storage for guests items in the kitchen and master bedroom (no closet or dresser in there), blinds on the large front windows (to mitigate the green house effect on the space and reduce glare on TV), move TV in living down to a more comfortable viewing location (and a larger TV would be great - note there is a large TV in the loft but the ladder access leaves something to be desired). None of these things would make me hesitate to rent this property again, though. It's really a lovely home.

  We had a great stay. The house has been thoughtfully set up and tastefully updated. The location is ideal. The rental company was very helpful and easy to work with. Overall, we had a great weekend.
  
  There are two small things to note:
  Linens are included, but that means one bath towel per person. If you plan to use the hot tub or pool, pack extra towels.
  
  Also, there is a raccoon issue at Sea Ranch so the owners/management ask that you do not leave windows open in rooms you are not in and zero food can be left on the counters. Which meant we could not utilize the cross breeze to cool the house off. Due to the massive windows, the house gets very warm on a sunny day. So this might not be the best choice on a warm weekend. Also, there is zero available cupboard space to store food off the counter. So bring some sort of air tight food storage if you don’t want to store everything in the fridge.

  Perfect place for a nice week on the coast with our dog! Stocked with everything you could want. Awesome interior design and details. Someone really took a lot of care putting the finishing touches on this great place. Only two things to consider. On those rare, but becoming more frequent, days when it is not overcast - the place is incredibly hot - with no place to escape due to the lack of shades on the living room floor and ceiling windows. Also, the beds are not necessarily optimum for heavier people - certainly not a heavier couple. We made it work, but the first night I thought for sure we were going to end up on the floor.

  Sandbox 3 was a good choice for our group of 4, two couples, seeking a peaceful getaway near Sea Ranch's nicest beach, Walk On. The house had a good view of blue water and was a short walk to the north end of the beach. It was also a dog friendly house, so our pet enjoyed the getaway with us. The house was well equipped, with a fully functional kitchen and BBQ. A bit pricey, but still a reasonable value. My only issue was with a slow draining toilet.
